When you first start a Ketogenic way of eating we recommend you stick to the basics, as you progress further you will be able to see what products do and don’t work for you and will be able to add extra things like coconut flour or almond flour and sweeteners, while some people can use these products without it affecting weight loss others may not so it is best to allow at least 6-8 weeks before introducing them. here is our list of kitchen must haves to get you started.

Flours and thickeners

Coconut flour

Psyllium husk

Psyllium husk powder is made from the seeds of ‘Plantago ovata’, which provides them with an outer coating complete with both soluble and insoluble fibres. Fibre increases the sensation of fullness after eating and is essential for healthy digestion, yet is lacking in many diets. Psyllium husks are a concentrated source of fibre, and are easy to supplement with when ground into powder form. Psyllium’s soluble fibre contributes to maintaining healthy cholesterol and insulin levels, whereas its insoluble fibre acts mostly as a stool softener and laxative.

Xanthan gum
